An Escape Room is a real-life, room escape experience designed to intrigue and delight! Players are locked in a themed room and challenged to work as a team to find clues/objects in the room, solve a series of puzzles/riddles, and escape the room in 60 minutes or less.
Because it’s fun! Not only that, it is a memorable experience to enjoy with your friends, colleagues, or family. The puzzles can be challenging, but give you a great sense of achievement when you complete them. Room escape games encourage teamwork and may even require you to use parts of your brain you didn’t even know were there! If you dislike puzzles, brainteasers and riddles, this may not be for you, but we’re convinced everyone will enjoy it, so give it a try!
Broadly speaking, the rooms can hold 2-16 people. However, each room has been uniquely designed and has a specific group size allowed as indicated in their descriptions. If you are interested in booking a large group, beyond what our online booking system allows, please contact us.
The cost for our escape rooms is $28/person during our normal operating hours. Please contact us for private event pricing or for the cost of booking experiences outside of these hours. We designed our rooms as a group activity so there are no additional discounts for groups.
When you are booking certain experiences, you will have the option of choosing between a Shared and Private booking. Choosing a Shared booking means that you will pay $28/person and that other individuals will also have the ability to book that same room/timeslot. Choosing a Private booking means that you will pay a single rate for up to a certain number of guests. Choosing this option ensures that you and your group will be the only guests in that room/timeslot. In the event you choose a Private booking and would like to bring additional guests, you may be able to purchase additional tickets at $28/person.
You have 1 hour inside your room to solve all of the puzzles and riddles in order to escape. When planning your visit, you should expect to spend about 1 1/4 hours at Houdini’s. We ask that you arrive several minutes ahead of your scheduled start time in order to get checked in and use the bathrooms if needed. You will then be taken back to your room where we will spend about 5 minutes going over the rules and the story behind the room. At the end of your allotted hour, or as soon as you escape, we will spend another 5 minutes with you answering any questions that you may have and taking your photo in the lobby under the Houdini’s sign.
Although you are technically locked inside your room, you are by no means trapped. You can press the large green button next to the door to exit or re-enter your room at any time.
Each room is designed to accommodate a specific number of people and any tickets for a particular time that you do not purchase are available for others to purchase. The only way to ensure that you have the room to yourself is to purchase ALL of the tickets for a room at a particular time (8 in The Tower, 10 in The Lab, 10 in The Game Room, and 12 in The Oval Office).
Children under the age of 14 must be accompanied in their experience by a parent/guardian . Other than that restriction, children of all ages are welcome to participate in any of our escape rooms. Please keep in mind that children under the age of 14 may find most elements of the games too challenging to complete on their own. If you do not intend to be actively involved in your younger child’s experience, it may be best to leave them at home.
In order to preserve the enjoyment of other guests inside the room, we ask that if you would like to revisit a room that you have already experienced that you purchase all of the tickets for that room or contact us for a Private Booking.
During our regular operating hours, bookings are available: Thursdays 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm, Fridays 6:00 pm – 11:00 pm, Saturdays 12:00 pm – 11:00 pm, and Sundays 12:00 pm – 8:00 pm (Check the “Contact Us” section of our website to see if we are currently offering any extended/holiday hours). We are happy to open up outside of these days/times or to adjust the previously scheduled start times to better accommodate your schedule. In order to do this, please contact us to create a private booking.
Our building and all of our experiences are accessible and have no special physical requirements.
Parking is available in our lot directly in front and to the left of our building.
The only way to guarantee (“Reserve”) space in one of our experiences is to book the number of tickets that you are interested in. In order to book your experience, click on the “Book Now” button or give us a call. While we do accept walk-ins provided there is space in an available experience, we recommend that you purchase your tickets ahead of time to ensure that you will be able to take part in an experience when you arrive.
Up to one week prior to your scheduled arrival, you may modify or cancel your Houdini’s experience through a link in the confirmation email you will receive after making a booking. Changes made to your booking during this time frame are eligible for a full refund. All other sales are final. No refunds will be issued within seven days of your arrival date.
Are you interested in giving a Houdini’s Room Escape experience as a gift? If so, you have two options to choose from. You can purchase an electronic gift certificate that will be delivered via email by clicking on the “Book Now Button”, or you can stop by the reception desk inside our lobby to purchase a traditional gift card. Either way you will be giving the gift of a puzzling good time! Both options are available in the denomination of your choice, but most are purchased in increments of $28.
Are you celebrating a birthday, anniversary, or other special occasion during your visit to Houdini’s? CeleCRATES were specifically designed to help our guests celebrate these events and purchasing one is the perfect way to help make your experience even more special. CeleCRATES contain a Houdini’s t-shirt, puzzles, games, and other magical surprises. If you provide us with some specific information we can even customize some of its contents. You can pick up your CeleCRATE to give as a gift before your visit or if you were to purchase all of the tickets for a specific date/timeslot we could even incorporate it into your room as a fun surprise. CeleCRATES can be purchased for $30, but if you were to purchase all of the tickets as described previously, we would refund half of the purchase price meaning you would receive a CeleCRATE for only $15. (Refund of purchase not valid with other offers. Only valid for 1 CeleCRATE per room.) *Each CeleCRATE must be ordered at least 24 hours ahead of your scheduled arrival date.
We love having groups celebrate special occasions with us! You can purchase a CeleCRATE to help celebrate a special occasion during your visit (You can learn more about the CeleCRATE above). While we cannot modify the rooms/puzzles themselves, if you have any other ideas for how we can help you celebrate, please contact us and we will let you know if we will be able to accommodate your request.
